  6. [..YouTube..] @theskateboardt619 Hey man, that’s awesome! You’re gonna have a ton of fun ๐Ÿ˜€ You’ll need something like the Focusrite Octopre with the A/D option card. (A/D means analog to digital conversion which is crucial to get the signal into your computer)

The Octopre MK2 is pretty much meant for drums, really inexpensive and will give you eight preamped inputs I THINK each with compression and limiting if you choose to engage it and the quality is really good for the price! ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. [..YouTube..] @iLoveAltNation Well Hammerax does make some normal sounding stuff and I use them at gigs frequently. But as an artist it really doesn’t appeal to me. The most normal stuff I get into is things like the Fierce ride and all that. Hammerax has a pretty close version of that cymbal too! ๐Ÿ™‚

  20. [..YouTube..] I’d like to hear some of these 14x8s with slightly looser wires, it always seems like you have them quite tight. Maybe it’s because I’m rubbish at tuning, but tightening the wires always seems to choke my 14×8, I prefer to have them a little looser and really get the full body of the drum.

  21. [..YouTube..] @theskateboardt619 haha that’s cool man! I don’t think they have a specific name. You want a firewire (if your computer has that, if not USB) based 8 channel mic pre. All the other bells and whistles that they do aren’t super necessary as you can attack all of that stuff in software! I know that there’s one called a FireStudio as well. I’m not SUPER well versed in them right now as I haven’t looked into them for a couple years. ๐Ÿ™‚ Good luck man!!

  41. [..YouTube..] @jabaacuatic Sweet! There’s quite a few variations on the signature snares even just in the 14×8 wood models. 12 lug, 10 lug, die cast / triple flanged for either, two regular veneers Ebony and Bubinga with the occasional rarity of Scandi Birch, Oak or others to be seen and of course the lite Birch shell which is 7mm or so and the heavy beech shell which is a 12 mm. ๐Ÿ™‚ Happy hunting! I’ve always wanted a Scandi Heavy. I’ve only ever seen two

  50. [..YouTube..] @Ankylophobia They’re completely different cymbals. I’m not sure why they reused the name to be honest. The new ones are a pretty normal style hihat the only unique thing about them is that they start at 5.5″ and go to I think 15″

These are an extremely dark top cymbal which is really a crash and the bottom is a mini flat ride.

  54. [..YouTube..] @theskateboardt619 An audio interface is part of it, but doesn’t include any preamps in just an audio interface. Audio interface has to be part of the equation. I was trying to suggest items that had the full package. A single unit with audio interface, A/D conversion and preamp channels so all he needs is cables and mics on top of that.

Unless I’m mixed up on my terminology the audio interface allows/tells your computer how to deal with the incoming data from your converters and pre’s
