You should demonstrate some of your fills where you just throw in a little
double bass. Like the fill around 0:30.

Could have done with less of the mega double bass fills.

You’re probably going to get a lot of resistance from your comment because
of the way you said it. Simply by stating “speed isn’t everything” means
absolutely nothing in context of this video. I recommend always trying to
be constructive with your comments as it’ll be better received. If you have
feedback, please share constructively and we can all try and improve
together. Leave the negativity at the door. Happy drumming, – Jared Falk

    Thanks a lot man! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. [..YouTube..] Yessir, GPlus, I find they’re way easier to play doubles on

  2. [..YouTube..] haha it’s kinda a mangini rip off ๐Ÿ˜‰

  3. [..YouTube..] They’ll be back! They’re just modding some of my stuff, I needed stacks so I had to use what was kickin’ around ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. [..YouTube..] I know, I know, Hammerax is just modding some of my stuff, I needed stacks so I had to use what was kickin’ around ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. [..YouTube..] haha I can see how in this video it’d seem I’m just one of those guys who shows off all the time. But this is taken as four minutes from a 60 minute live lesson where most of that was entirely kick, snare, hats and at a very slow tempo.

You have to admit, most people on YouTube wanna just see the fast stuff. I tried to cut what they wanted ๐Ÿ˜›

Plus, I’m nearly impossible to offend haha!

  6. [..YouTube..] well hello mr mangini lol

    • Mike Savage
    • July 16, 2012

    well hello mr mangini lol

  7. [..YouTube..] hahaha ya ya my kit is setup kinda like his ๐Ÿ˜› I just started into the ambidexterity studies recently and this just was how it naturally evolved. When I’m more comfortable it’ll definitely stray from this a bit. I already have a concept for where it’s going, I just don’t want to add too much to it yet.

  8. [..YouTube..] granted alot of people wanna see fast stuff on youtube but tbh if i wanted to see fast drumming on youtube i’d look up dragonforce drum covers…in no way am I being negative on your ability to play, however after a certain amount of time watching youtube drumming, fast drumming is not as impressive as it use to be also in my opinion you look bored when playing this, a few smiles and more enjoyment would not go a miss just my opinion ๐Ÿ˜›

  9. [..YouTube..] hahahah well fair enough man! Not trying to push myself on ya, but I’ve got about a hundred other videos, where In half I hardly do anything fast. It’s more about groove and rhythmic concepts. And I know what you’re gonna say, not all needs to be weird. That’s just what my channel is dedicated to! I’m a massive questlove fan. Most musical situations where it’s not just me, I’m kick, snare, hats and head bobbin’ to the beat with a big smile on my face.

  11. [..YouTube..] not making a snap judgement on your playing style, my comments were purely based on this video i will have a look at your other vids, if anything i have respect for online teachers as i said my comment is purely on this one video

  12. [..YouTube..] Awesome man ๐Ÿ™‚ and you’re totally right. This selection of out of context clips is almost entirely about me playing double stroke rolls and putting shots in weird places ๐Ÿ˜›

  14. [..YouTube..] fairplay to you, once again thanks for not taking offence to a opinionated comment seems like most people have/would have taken offence, was purely just my view on this one video

  15. [..YouTube..] i see well it is a nice kit and it sounds great and if i ever get my kit that big i would consider setting it up like that and i have a question about the H2000 hi hat stand I’m thinking of getting one and I’m just wondering if it’s smooth i have a very un smooth yamaha stand and I’m looking to upgrade i see the dw 9000’s have sort of a bounce to them when you tap them does the h 2000’s have that because like i said I’m looking for something smooth pce, M,savage

  16. [..YouTube..] Ahh fair enough couldn’t really hear it is all just had another listen and there is an underlying rhythm it’s just hard to hear my bad, Just as a bassist I always try hard to listen out for a good rhythm in anything. But like I said man you’re clearly skilled so really keep up the good work, I’ll be subbing:)

  17. [..YouTube..] Yeah. It’s probably one of those things that seems really simple to you, but because of how fast they happen they seem like mesh of toms and bass drum.

  25. [..YouTube..] The H2000 is very smooth, I haven’t noticed any bounce, but my foot is always contacting the pedal. The Tama Iron Cobra (strap) one is also very good ๐Ÿ™‚

  26. [..YouTube..] Ahh, thanks a lot dude! ๐Ÿ™‚

  27. [..YouTube..] Yeah man, and listening back everything always seems faster than when you played it ๐Ÿ˜›

  28. [..YouTube..] Thanks Hugo!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  29. [..YouTube..] haha that’d be sweet! The video would be like half an hour long though haha!

  30. [..YouTube..] It seems so slow and tame when I’m back there playing it. Listening back is a little more like… wtf. haha

Oh my GAWD! You kill it bro!! I can’t believe I’m just now seeing this vid,
I’ve always tried to find vids of you just in your own element not so much
strictly instructing, I think this vid captures a good deal of your
knowledge applied in context, yet barely scratching the surface of what all
you know! Not to slob on your knob too much! But I just got stoked!
