  29. [..YouTube..] @mattmdrums Absolutely, if you roll your sticks on a flat surface and the stick happens to be warped, the tip will move in circles (You’ll know exactly what I’m talking about when you see it). If it’s not warped, the tip will stay still as it rolls.

  54. [..YouTube..] Well they’re drastically different than the Weckl stick, and if that’s feeling close to perfect, this wouldn’t be an appropriate jump. I’d suggest the Gadd signature which is very similar. Or you could try the alternate tip, Weckl comes in wood or nylon tip!

  55. [..YouTube..] I enjoy Vic firth rock sticks and promark Neil Peart signature sticks. The vics are a bit too beefy, and the pearts are too light( i broke one in less than a week). i prefer the feel of white oak in my hands and i like the ride sound better from the pearts. What is something that lies in between these two pairs?

  56. [..YouTube..] Honestly I’m not familiar with either of those sticks. Sorry dude! Your best bet would be to go to each website and write down the specs of both sticks, decide what you like from each and kinda blend them to guess out what your perfect specs would be in a stick. Then go to all the other company’s websites as well and try to find something that’s close! 🙂

  61. [..YouTube..] Another thing i would add to this is to look for runout. This is when the wood grain does not run straight throughout the whole stick. If you see a significant angle near the tip, your stick wont last long. This is more common with cheaper sticks.

  73. [..YouTube..] Vic Firth has variations just like any other stick. It’s a natural wood product.

If you do this on Vic Firth sticks (Which I have on hundreds of pairs) The pitches aren’t 100%, the straightness, although extremely consistent, definitely not 100% of the time, weight again, there are variations.

Not a fan of vater, bought a pair of 5A’s and broke them in 10 minutes, then the next day I bought 5B’s and 10 minutes into the show they broke :-/ Play pro mark 5B’s and they work fantasticly.
